Description

The non-profit organization, Downtown Theatre Foundation for The Arts, was formed in 2012 in an effort to keep the Fairfield Center for Creative Arts open and available for the community performing arts groups. Downtown Theatre Foundation manages the facility through ticket sales, facility rentals, and most importantly, generous donations from the community. This foundation strives to provide a home for all performing arts groups, and the arts community members.

Mission Statement

Downtown Theatre Foundation for The Arts provides a home for local arts organizations to engage entertain, and inspire audiences from our community. We strive to bring the community together through a variety of diverse programs and unique experiences.

Programs

1. We will be updating our existing theatrical lighting and replacing the original stage floor. We plan to replace the lighting with LED to help cut down on electrical costs and provide enhanced equipment for our local arts organizations to use.

2. We will install an exterior security surveillance system at the Downtown Theatre to supplement the existing interior alarm system to ensure the safety of our building, community members, and staff.

Accomplishments

Two years ago, DTFA was approved by the city, to extend the management of the Downtown Theatre for another eight years. In late Summer last year, thanks to our generous donors, we added a marquee to the face of the theatre and brought attention and excitement to the facility and our upcoming productions. Since that time, our foundation has increased the use of the facility and we look to continue to keep the doors open and provide the stage for our local arts organizations.
