Frequently Asked Questions

Give Local Solano is a online giving event that coincides with #GivingTuesday.  Organized by the Solano Community Foundation, the purpose of GLS is to help our communities thrive by supporting the nonprofits that provide programs and services.  The goal is to build a culture of philanthropy in Solano County.

GLS is held on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving Day each year.

For Solano Community Foundation, #GivingTuesday is the annual launch day for Give Local Solano.  SCF's fundraising campaign will continue to accept GLS donations made through this website through February 28, 2022.

You do not have to live in Solano County to make a donation, anyone can make a gift to any of the nonprofit participants on the GLS website.  Participating nonprofits must be located in or providing services to Solano County.
Using your credit card, you can donate to any nonprofit that has registered to participate. Participating nonprofits will each have a donation (profile) page where you can choose the amount you want to donate and fill in the donation form. If you make a typing error while making a contribution, contact Solano Community Foundation at (707) 399-3846 or send an email to GiveLocal@solanocf.org.
100% of the donation qualifies as a charitable gift. You will receive an email confirming the deduction from the Solano Community Foundation for your records. By selecting a specific charity to receive your donation, your gift is restricted for that charity and will not be given to any other charity.
A minimum gift of $25 is requested, but there is no limit to the amount of each gift or number of donations you can make. All gifts made to SCF through this GLS website are tax-exempt (and non-refundable).
