Description
In Solano County, we have been offering wellness and recovery programs for more than 20 years. Our services include homeless outreach, residential treatment and supported housing, mental health case management, supported employment, and more.
Mission Statement
Caminar empowers and supports individuals and families to move toward resilience, wellness, and independence.
Programs
Our Healthy Partnerships Division is now offering comprehensive youth mental health and substance abuse services in our Fairfield and Vacaville locations. We offer education and group processing in a safe, thoughtful, and compassionate environment for adolescents struggling with mental health conditions, substance abuse, and addiction. Funds for supportive services would be helpful for space issues and materials.
The Wellness and Recovery Center is a peer run drop-in center for individuals with a known or suspected mental illness, located adjacent to Caminar's medication clinic and case management services. The center provides an array of services meant to promote wellness and ongoing recovery from mental health disorders. Funds could be used in many ways with the center including helping with our fund to purchase a van.
Accomplishments
Caminar's thriving programs help more than 20,000 individuals annually across five counties. Our behavioral health and supportive services address complex conditions including mental health, domestic violence, addiction recovery and more.
Our HOME Program, works with the mentally ill homeless population in Solano County by by connecting them with intensive support services. We provide supportive and stabilizing services to those experiencing situational homelessness and are facing a housing, health care, financial, or psychiatric crisis. Last year we successfully served 25 clients. Also, we have been partnering with the Fairfield and Vallejo Police Departments to ride along and interact together with the homeless population in a compassionate manner to aid further engagement.
Caminar merged with Healthy Partnerships earlier this year, allowing us to expand our reach and serve more of our most vulnerable population in Solano County. This partnership allows us to offer high-quality behavioral health care, including both substance abuse and mental health services, in an atmosphere of compassion, respect, and cultural competence. We have also restarted a program to specifically help our teen population.
Funding Goals
Our fundraising goal for our Healthy Partnership Teen Program is $15,000 to help with creating a safe, supportive space and program materials.
Our fundraising goal for our Wellness and Recovery Center is $20,000 which can be used for our various support groups, art therapy groups, exercise groups, and social outings. Money for a van would be a tremendous aid to our programs.
